The interactive tree inset below, compiled by Sanja Miklin as part of a dissertation project at the University of Chicago, was completed in 2015 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the University of Chicago. Miklin's project attempts to capture the rich history and great intellectual breadth of the Committee on Social Thought. Moving through time on the vertical axis, it maps out individual faculty members and visiting professors according to various other departments they were associated with. Clicking on the boxes under the names reveals additional information, which illustrates not only the many accomplishments of the Committee’s faculty but reveals additional layers of interdisciplinarity that could not be captured by the tree.
